Risk Officer - Permanent Risk Function
Role Purpose
The person in charge of the Permanent Risk Function is responsible for the independent oversight of all risks related to the AIFs under management and the Management Company. The role requires as a well strong regulatory and compliance dimension, ensuring full adherence to AIFMD, CSSF regulations, and internal governance standards. The function operates independently from portfolio management and contributes actively to the firm’s risk culture and regulatory dialogue.
Main Responsibilities
Risk Governance & Framework
Define, implement and maintain the risk management framework in line with AIFMD and CSSF requirements
Ensure proper segregation of duties and alignment with governance standards
Update policies and methodologies in line with regulatory developments
Risk Monitoring & Oversight
Identify, assess and monitor key risks: market, liquidity, credit, leverage, operational risks
Define and track KRIs and risk limits
Monitor breaches and escalate issues to senior management
Portfolio & Liquidity Risk
Perform regular portfolio risk reviews
Oversee liquidity risk management, including stress testing and redemption monitoring
Assess risk implications of investment strategies and structures
Stress Testing & Analysis
Conduct stress testing, scenario and sensitivity analysis
Assess portfolio resilience and propose mitigation actions
Reporting & Regulatory Interaction
Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and Board
Contribute to regulatory reporting and audits
Act as a key point of contact during regulatory inspections
Compliance & AML Support
Work closely with Compliance on regulatory topics and governance matters
Support AML/CFT processes from a risk perspective
Profile & skills
3+ years of experience in Risk and/or Compliance within an AIFM, ManCo or regulated environment
Strong knowledge of AIFMD, CSSF regulations and risk governance frameworks
Experience in a Permanent Risk Function or similar role is a strong asset
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, including Board-level reporting
Autonomous, proactive and detail-oriented
